GIFIS showcases global safety frameworks at MWC Shanghai

The Global Initiative for Industrial Safety (GIFIS) joined industry leaders, technology innovators and policymakers at MWC Shanghai to help shape discussions on the future of safer, technology-enabled workplaces.

Throughout the three-day event in June, GIFIS highlighted its latest research and practical guidance designed to support organisations navigating the rapid adoption of emerging technologies in industrial environments.

Among the key publications showcased was Making Safety Technology Work, a new framework that provides organisations with a practical approach to evaluating, comparing and implementing emerging safety technologies with greater confidence. The publication aims to support informed decision-making as businesses increasingly adopt AI, robotics and connected systems.

GIFIS also presented The Global Industrial Safety Manifesto, which outlines a shared vision for strengthening collaboration between industry, government, academia and international organisations to accelerate safer industrial transformation. The manifesto calls for coordinated action to ensure that technological innovation is matched by robust safety practices and effective governance.

With artificial intelligence, automation and connected technologies continuing to transform industrial operations worldwide, discussions at MWC Shanghai reinforced the importance of evidence-based guidance and cross-sector collaboration in delivering better safety outcomes for workers.

The event provided an opportunity for GIFIS to engage with organisations from across the global industrial ecosystem, exchanging ideas on the challenges and opportunities presented by next-generation technologies and exploring how partnerships can help build safer workplaces.
